Data retention summary

This page summarises how long we keep major categories of information for Traditional Dating. Detailed schedules are maintained in our records of processing and may be updated when the law, our safety obligations, or the product changes. Retention may be extended where required for accounting, tax, or legitimate legal holds.

Summary table

• Active account / profile: retained while the account is active (contract performance).
• After account deletion: short cool-off (e.g. 30 days) then delete or anonymise where possible, subject to legal holds.
• Messages and user-generated content: while active; after deletion, typically 30–90 days unless flagged for safety or legal reasons.
• Reports and moderation records: risk-based, often multi-year, for pattern detection and legal defence (aligned to limitation periods).
• Security logs: typically 90–180 days for routine logs; longer for critical audit trails, with minimisation and redaction.
• Billing and tax records: typically 6–7 years depending on jurisdiction (legal obligation).
• Consent and marketing records: duration of consent plus a multi-year evidence window for disputes/audits.
• Breach records: maintained per jurisdictional rules (e.g. Canada PIPEDA breach record requirements where applicable).

Technical enforcement

We use technical and operational controls to apply deletion and anonymisation in line with these schedules, including safeguards where data must be preserved under a legal hold.
